Dallas Urban Waterway Dredging
Bullock Construction completed an urban waterway dredging and cleanup project in the Dallas area to remove accumulated sediment, debris, and vegetation that were restricting flow and reducing the usable channel.
Using specialized compact equipment, including an amphibious excavator and mini excavator, the crew was able to work directly within the confined waterway and restore access through the channel.
LOCATION

Urban waterway / channel
PROJECT TYPE
Waterway Dredging
Sediment, vegetation, and debris removal
EQUIPMENT
Specialized Excavators
Amphibious excavator + mini excavator
PROJECT GOAL
Restore the Channel
Improve flow, access, and usable waterway capacity
A Waterway Overtaken by Sediment and Debris
Years of sediment accumulation, vegetation, trash, and debris had reduced the usable channel and made portions of the waterway difficult to access and maintain. The confined urban setting also limited where traditional heavy equipment could operate.

Specialized Equipment for a Difficult-Access Site
Bullock Construction mobilized equipment specifically suited for confined waterway work. An amphibious excavator worked directly in the water to remove accumulated sediment and debris, while a mini excavator supported cleanup and material handling from accessible areas along the channel.

AMPHIBIOUS ACCESS
Work From the Water
The amphibious excavator allowed the crew to reach areas that would have been difficult to access from the shoreline.

MECHANICAL REMOVAL
Sediment & Debris Removal
Accumulated material was excavated directly from the channel to reopen the waterway.

COMPACT EQUIPMENT
Built for Tight Spaces
Smaller equipment provided flexibility in an urban environment with limited working room.

Why Mechanical Dredging Was the Right Fit
Mechanical dredging was well suited for this project because the channel contained a mixture of sediment, vegetation, trash, and larger debris. Excavators allowed the crew to physically remove the accumulated material while working within the confined waterway.
Restoring a More Usable Waterway
By removing accumulated sediment, vegetation, and debris, Bullock Construction reopened areas of the channel and restored more usable waterway capacity. The project also demonstrated how specialized equipment can make dredging possible in urban locations where access is limited.
